Every couple of days my ankles swell up. I sit at a desk to work, so I put them up when I can. I’m 33 and not overweight. Why are they swelling up?
Swollen ankles in women are relatively common and are usually due to slow blood flow. Sitting for long periods won’t help and sitting cross legged is the worst. You are right to get your feet up when you can but try to walk around as much as possible too or draw circles in the air with your feet. Some people also find taking extract of red vine leaf improves circulation but if none of this helps, get it checked out by your GP – it can be a sign of a more serious problems with circulation or low protein levels in your blood.
