I get sinusitis and nothing seems to shift it. Often my sinuses get infected and I have to get them drained. Is there anything I can do to stop it happening?
It sounds like you are producing excess mucus. It will probably surprise you to hear that it is normal to make up to four pints of thin mucus every day without being aware of it! The problems arise either when we produce more than this or the mucus becomes extra thick. Thick mucus may be due to infection but it can also be linked to central heating so try turning it down or even off to see if that makes any difference. Alternatively, excess amount of mucus may be an allergic problem and it’s worth talking to your doctor about trying a steroid nasal spray.
