A few hairs have started growing out of a mole on my arm. It looks really ugly. Is it normal and can I get it removed?
Most of us have some moles and they can be hairy.
Contrary to popular belief, plucking the hairs is not dangerous but signs that you should look out for are itching, bleeding and a change in colour, size or shape. If a mole changes in this way you should report it to a doctor straight away and they will probably remove it. If you want the mole removed on cosmetic grounds, you may find there is a fee as the NHS won’t necessarily pay. Make an appointment to see your GP who will be able to tell you how to go about getting rid of it.
