I’m 33 years old and I still get spots on my chin, nose and chest. I wasn’t very spotty as a teenager, but since my mid-twenties the problem has been getting worse and worse. I use medicated soap and special cleansers and moisturisers, but nothing seems to get rid of them all together. What can I do?
Unfortunately, acne can be a problem in adult life. Be careful about overzealous washing ? it can irritate the skin and make matters worse. Stick to a pH balance soap that will keep the skin neutral, only use your hands not a flannel and pat the skin dry, don?t rub it. Remember that acne creams are designed to prevent spots not treat existing ones so use the cream over all areas that might be affected but if you are still struggling despite this, see your GP ? a course of antibiotics may be the answer.
